Welcome to COAST

COAST Festival of the Visual Arts is an annual weekend of events that takes place in the beautiful Banffshire Coast towns of Banff & Macduff.

Now going into its third year, COAST has enjoyed two successful Festivals and is currently planning for 2010.

COAST aims to become a festival of both National and International prominence, to promote the visual arts in its many forms, develop the arts community in the area and attract visitors from far and wide to enjoy everything this stretch of the rugged Scottish coastline can offer.

Our most recent Festival, held in May 2009 saw over 35 events and activities took place over a 4-day weekend and included exhibitions from Francis Boag - who opened his 2009 solo exhibition with Just Art Gallery at the Festival; The Society of Scottish Artists; Peacock Visual Arts; David Blyth & Michael Agnew and many more local and visiting artists.

The COAST Fine & Applied Art Fair, an enormously popular event once again, featured a superb selection of art forms and styles, including ceramics, painting, photography, batik, glasswares and jewellery.

In addition to fantastic exhibitions, COAST also includes a selection of participatory art workshops, public art installations, film screenings and a Local Food Fair in its programme.... there really is something for everyone to enjoy; why not take a look at the What's On page to see what was on offer in 2009, and sign up on our contact page to receive regular updates on news and opportunities for 2010 and beyond.
